In June 1988, Larry Reichart decided to open his own lumber business. His father had a sawmill, and later worked in a lumberyard for 16 years. With this experienced he started from scratch and began the independent lumber business.
He ran the operation for the first two years at a small location in the back of Columbia County’s office building. Larry’s Lumber moved to it’s current Buckhorn location in 1990.
Throughout the years, Larry has seen a constant growth in the area. Although many of the large store chains have moved in the area, Larry’s Lumber continues to be preferred by members of the local community. Larry’s Lumbar is family owned and operated and they can give you service that larger operations cannot. Larry has over 40 years experience in the lumber business. Larry’s wife Claudia, daughter-in-law Amber, and son Brad are also on hand to assist customers with their needs. They look forward to seeing the many familiar faces in the store in addition to meeting new people.
Larry has seen a change in product in the last few years, there have been many new inventions and products on the market. The business is continuously expanding with new items in stock every year. Offering products for almost every phase of the construction process.
